Thank you so very much John, all of your 1001 shows are great, fantastic! Such a wonderful variety of true stories, real hero’s, mysterious legends and all very well orated! I first discovered your 1001 hero’s legends histories and mysteries, and listened to the episode about Victorios gold, and I have been hooked ever since. I am familiar with many of the stories but your versions always include new bits of information or a new look. Thank you John, and keep ‘em coming!!

Looked for well told stories with quality sound — found this on a search for “stories” on Apple’s iTunes Podcasts. I’ve clicked “follow” and have added auto downloads. I’ll also check in on Spotify as that helps me when listening thru my Amazon Alexa speaker. Thank you, John Hagadorn, for your time and attention to reading the older / classic stories.

Job is a great narrator. I’ve lost myself for hours listening to these great stories.

This has quickly become my favorite podcast. I love the short story format that fits nicely within the timeframe of my commute home. The podcast has a wonderful selection of classic writers. It is a pleasant change from listening to the news and the dreary state of affairs of our nation on my ride home.

I usually listen to science fiction podcast stories and remembered that I used to listen to and love short stories. So my search brought me right to this podcast. Then I remembered that I had listened to another 1001 podcast from Jon Hagadorn so I got this and am really happy with the stories. One problem, I listen to the podcasts at night before falling to sleep. But for me Jon’s voice just hits me right in the “voice to fall asleep to” zone. So I find I usually fall asleep about 10 minutes into a story and everytime I wake up I have to reset the clock back to the last place I remember, usually about 10 minutes from when I last remember. But I absolutely HAVE TO FINISH IT. I then am so into the story that a 30 minute story takes about an hour to listen to. To contrast, most other podcasts I listen too have me still wide awake after an hour. So for me this podcast is so right for me on several aspects. Great stories that interest me with a great variety of authors and types of stories (Jack London to Ray Bradbury) and reading that actually relaxes me at night and interests me. Also, his favorites on Britbox are all of my favorites. Every one of them!

I have listened to stories for the road and many of the great short stories . I just got through listening to how the first letter was written and found it to be quite amusing! I even laughed out loud several times (very unusual for me). Thank you for that great reading and wonderful selection of material!!!

There have been books I haven’t been able to get through with other narrators. Mr Jon Hagadorn has made formerly uninteresting classics captivating for me. I’ve never quit a book when it’s read by him!

I needed help sleeping. I had finished my last audio book and found this. Worked like a charm. Thank you!!

This podcast has saved me. I am a mailman driving four to six hours a day delivering my route. I listen to one story after another. Mr. Hagedorn has a calm, soothing voice. I’ve listened to other books on tape, but I always come back to 1001 short stories. All I can say is thank you

I love this podcast. It’s like story time for grownups. The reader is excellent. I only wish he could do newer stories as well, but I understand copyright is a real issue. But I enjoy the classics and other stories I never knew. Thanks so much!

I always dread winter, I am a gardener and love toiling in my flower beds, the smell of rich soil, and tending my green leafed friend.
