INSIDE THE INVESTIGATION: THE SIERAH JOUGHIN STORY (2016)

1001 TRUE CRIME STORIES

On the evening of July 19, 2016, 20-year-old Sierah Joughin was riding her bicycle home through the quiet country roads of Fulton County, Ohio. She had been riding with her boyfriend for part of the trip. Before they separated, he asked her to text him when she got home.

The message never came.

Before long, Sierah's purple bicycle was discovered in a cornfield not far from home. Investigators arriving at the scene found disturbing signs that this wasn't simply an accident or a young woman who had decided to disappear. Something had happened along that lonely stretch of road. What followed was an urgent investigation involving local law enforcement and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Investigators began working outward from the place where Sierah's bicycle had been found, studying the scene, following physical evidence and asking who might have been traveling that road at approximately the same time. And then their attention began turning toward a man who lived nearby.

What investigators learned about him, and what he began telling them, would dramatically change the direction of the case.

In THE SIERAH JOUGHIN STORY, we follow the investigation as it unfolded, from the frightening realization that Sierah had vanished to the clues that gradually led authorities toward the truth.

This is also the story of Sierah herself, known as"Ce" to family and friends. She was a graduate of Evergreen High School and a University of Toledo student studying human resource management when she disappeared. [en.wikipedia.org]
