1001 Stories for the road
Hi Jon. I have enjoyed listening to your different 1001 podcast. I’ve been listening to the 1001 stories for the road, in particular, “Jewels from Opal”. The last chapters that you posted was 18-19. I was just wondering when you’re going to finish up the book, the “Jewels of Opar”? Keep up the good work. Kelley
Great Podcast
Jon does a great job reading these adventure stories as well as picking the stories I’d say. This has become my favorite thing to listen to while walking, driving, and just relaxing. Keep up the great work Jon! I am currently enjoying The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Job well done

Jewels of Opar
I look forward each week to the new chapters of this fun Tarzan adventure. Since the day I found all of these 1001 podcast, I haven’t turned on the TV. Thank you John for bring so many wonderful authors off dusty shelves and into the light to brighten the lives of so many. When I have a little extra money, (if politicians perhaps become servants of the people rather than their own pocketbook) I promise to share and send some your way.
Chapter 15 ??????
Love your reading the Tarzan books. What happened to Opar Chapter 15?
The show
I’m listening to the. Jewels of Opar, a Tarzan adventure and am enjoying it very much. These Tarzan adventures are wonderful entertainment! Your reading is so lively, it makes it easy to fallow and see the action in our minds…so much fun! Superior to T. V. In every way ! Thanks
John knows stories
John Hagadorn’s reading of this great mystery book is done with the same enthusiasm that makes me want to listen to all his stories. I feel like John understands what makes a story great, and he reads it as it should be read. I don’t need clever voices for each different character, and I personally don’t like music or lots of sound effects in the back ground. It’s his tone and the eagerness to share the story that make John’s reading so special. He does distinguish the voices to make it easier to follow, but it the pacing I enjoy. He reads slow enough to be clear, but fast enough to keep the story moving. His inflections, I’m my opinion, are those of someone who really understands what makes a story interesting. John hopes that we enjoy his stories, but I can tell he enjoys them too, and that makes the best kind of reader! I can’t wait to see what story is next on 1001 Stories for the Road. In the mean time I am listening to The Lost World, from a little while back, in the 1001 Sherlock Holmes and the Best of Arthur Conan Doyle. Another good story.
1001 Stories
Listening to a favorite Agatha Christie now, this podcast is great! Check it out :)
Variety of Great Literature Narrated
I like this podcast due to the variety of literature narrated and provided in short sections I can listen to while cleaning or commuting. From science fiction to historical fiction to classic mysteries; the narrator gives a variety of stories. He also gives a little summary of the previous action for longer titles to help listeners- very thoughtful. It’s also a very kid friendly selection with no sex, drugs or gratuitous violence. Listeners should be aware that due to the time period some of the books were written, not all of the content is politically correct according to our 21st century perspective.
Awesome Podcast
I’m a young adult who loves this genre of literature and this is a great way to get it. I love the readers voice. It adds a level of authenticity that kind of takes me to the readers fireplace and lets me enjoy it with him. Thanks so much!
Old Listener
A few years ago in a rave review, I requested you do A Connecticut Yankee in Kings Arthur’s Court, which I read back in the 70s. So glad that you’re recording it, with obvious enjoyment! Such lines as, “I prophesied myself bald-headed”, and the like, are simply wonderful. Thank you for bringing one of my favorite classics to life, Jon. Twain’s favorite creation was “Joan of Arc”; you may enjoy that also!
Thank you

It’s so good even though I’ve never listened but I trust these reviews 💯. I am also currently fighting a dragon with a dog toy while learning to speak 4 languages and playing speed chess. The ads at the start are really getting me trough middle school depression.
Fantastic!!
Jon Hagadorns material never fails to please! This podcast as well as his many other shows has given me many hours of entertainment. Jon’s voice is perfect, it’s like he’s sitting at my kitchen table, very engaging!
