Some good, some bad
Good: I enjoy the host’s speaking voice and the vast spectrum of topics. So far the amount of ads isn’t too much. Host often tries to cover lesser known historical events. Bad: Host clearly tends to favor many of the conspiracies, cryptics, UFO, and miracle topics, which is fine, but he tends to skew his research toward the result he wants rather than to the facts. I don’t believe he’s racist, but rather than stating the facts of a massacre in the old west, he goes out of his way to justify it. I think most listeners can handle the facts and make up their own mind. There are definite audio issues. Levels vary from too quiet to too loud. Some of the background music or dramatic effects overpower the host at times. He starts, then restarts and leaves all of those redo’s in. I’m still a fan of the show because I enjoy most of the topics.
Tied as one of the top three
It’s tied as one of the top three podcasts it’s up there with Twilight Histories, and Lorehammer John is an amazing podcaster and I hope he continues to do his amazing podcasts I especially the stuff about Space Aliens
Great subject matter and wonderful, sincere narration!
These true tales and the exploits of the heroes featured, are a delight and an inspiration. Mr. H's narrative style is engaging and sincere. I can't recommend this podcast enough! It's "theatre for the mind."
Great listening
Great podcast! Look forward to listening to every new release. 5 stars for sure.

Who said, “A nation divided...
Excellent history, reading, and informative. Your blooper, however, during John Wilkes Booth’s suicide occurred in Enid, Oklahoma. Now, Jesus said, “Any kingdom divided against itself cannot stand” - Luke 11:17; Mark 3:24; Matthew 12:25, depending upon the translation (i.e. - KJV, ASV, NASB) You are the most interesting, easy to hear podcaster I listen to on any given day. Thank you for your studies and research. You make few and at that, minor mistakes. I’ll keep listening. No matter what!
Interesting
I found this podcast & I have enjoyed each one I have listened to. Keep up the good work.
A National Treasure That Enriches Seekers Of Truth
This podcast is the real deal; the standard by which all should be measured. 1. Content. Beautifully written deep dives into some of the most compelling topics that history has to offer. 2. Listen-ability. Jon Hagadorn is at the pinnacle of delivery. The cadence and inflections combined with character provide believability, authority, and wisdom that I trust. 3. Honesty. Unfiltered truth. Remember what that sounds like? Subscribe to this Podcast for a reminder.
Glad I found this podcast
Just found this podcast and looks like it’ll be one of my favorite! Thanks!
Very informative and interesting
Excellent podcast for the history buff.
AWESOME STORY TELLER
Have listened to every episode of all 3 1001 podcasts. Just love all of them. Never turn my car radio on anymore . Waiting for next episode. Keep up the good work!
Like listening to a close friend
This podcast is one of my all-time favorites. Jon uncovers interesting stories and tells them so eloquently that they are a complete joy to listen to every time. Jon thank you for all the research you do and the effort you put in to tell these stories in an organized manner, even when the details are many! I have understood so much more about the people and places, war-stories, etc that you cover than I ever would have on my own. You make the stories come alive and make my imagination sing! Also FWIW----->>>> @Modern Crusader You are calling Jon a "blasphemous fraud" and "vagrant" for, in a choice of racial sensitivity, not saying the N word while reading the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I'd like to point out that Jon is among the most respectful of story-tellers I've listened to, both to the stories themselves, and to his listeners. His family-oriented show is something parents and children can enjoy together, indeed our family has. If my girls (being brown themselves) heard him reading that word as is so often used in that particular work, they'd be offended and disinclined to continue listening and wouldn't benefit from the lessons the story has to offer. Would it be better that they never know of or read the work at all? Or is it better for them to hear Jon's voice reading it to them in a culturally appropriate manner, according to today's information? Stop trolling. You've got the definitions of blasphemous, vagrant, and fraud wrong. You should google those words so you do not continue to use them incorrectly. It severely weakens your argument when you do.
Great job !
I really enjoy listening to all of your shows ! You do a great job with each one. I’ve never been disappointed with any of them.
Very Interesting
I was very intrigued by the information on this podcast. I’d recommend this Podcast to any history buff.
Addictive
I can not stop listening, I find myself lingering in my car, just telling myself “I’ll go in at the next commercial”. There is something for everyone! Thank you for filling my everyday with great stories and even better company!
All 1001 shows are great
It took awhile, but I have listened to all of your great shows. Now I have to wait until Sunday to hear more. Thanks 👍😃😄
Kevin Sloan
Great podcast Jon The first few episodes you got a little goofy, but you found your flow through the years. The only thing I don’t like on your more recent episodes is that some of your guests are hard to understand.
Magnifico!
Thank you Mr. Hagedorn for your podcast. 1001 Heroes, Legends, Histories & Mysteries Podcast was about the fifth podcast I found. Since then I listen to nothing else. So many favorites, but I especially love the ones on the rat pack! Since I have found stories for the road and short stories I am hooked and cannot wait until Sunday. Also thank you for standing up for God and our country keep at it!
Peshtigo
I enjoyed hearing part 1 of the Peshtigo. As An educator with a history concentration I loved the primary first-hand accounts. As a former Wisconsinite I had never heard Pestigo pronounced that way... perhaps further research to prove me wrong.
The BEST History Podcast
1001 is THE best history podcast I have found. I’ve been listening for over three years and each episode is meticulously researched and presented with excellent production value. On top of all that, Jon is a great storyteller! Thanks for all your hard work Jon, much appreciated!
Felt I was there...
I feel like I dropped into some time in history. I loved the 5 part series on the Titanic. I thought I had read every story and seen every movie, but I missed one. I felt the fear that the passengers must of felt. The interview with the author of the book on the Titanic menu was a new point of view as well I have been listening for a year now
1001 Heroes, Legends, Histories & Mysteries
OH MY GOSH! To critics! Listen to something else, who cares about how Oregon is pronounced or if the story has fishing, hunting or some other such you dont want to hear about. Go listen to night time news, or “night time entertainment!” This man is providing a SERVICE of entertainment, not a professionally produced, written, directed, sponsored piece of garbage! We have freedom of choice and variety, not every program needs to be the way you expert critics think.
Origins of Jesus’ followers
Jesus is followers came from to Judea!… Not Palestine!
Good Job
It is nice this day in age to hear history told from both perspectives and not just the overly sensitive and PC soaked place we have gotten used to. I have listened to your whole library and can’t get enough thank you.
