So many episodes to love - the most recent favorite is the Katyn Forest Massacre. I had never heard of the massacre before and then to find out real country behind it was unbelievable. Thanks Jon Hagadorn for bringing history to life.

Taken me away from audible!

So many great short stories it’s hard to get back to my audible library!! Great guy/great show/great stories!!! Keep up the great work John! Amazing... Your fan -chip- (PS... more red chief type stories! I forget my favorite authors name while writing this 5 star review:) )

Thankful Father

Believe it or not! My teenage daughters and I enjoy listening to these stories while making the 2 hr drive to Grandmas cozy lake cabin in Western MD. We enjoy discussing them afterwards, and no doubt have bonded over these family friendly stories. - Pittsburgh Dad

Solid

Over time I've developed a handful of go to podcasts I enjoy listening to, and this one is a definite rock I keep coming back to again and again. An interesting and wide range of subjects will keep your interest peeked and you may find it hard to stop listening. A big thanks to Jon for all his honest hard work and effort.

One of the best podcasts of all time

Mr. Hagadorn does a wonderful job of painting a vivid mental picture of some of the most interesting historical subjects of all time. I find his choice in topics to be fantastic. I have even let my daughter, Alyssa (age 11), listen to some of the podcasts and she actually listens to the immersive tales without complaint.....amazing cause none of his stories “so far” are about Taylor Swift. If you have to pick one podcast to keep you entertained for the day, you will Love Love Love the time you spend listening to 1001 Heroes, legends, Histories & Mysteries Podcast!!!!

Storytelling Excellence!

This podcast brings history to life like no other. It paints the past in vivid color. Along with great research and story telling I particularly enjoy the give no ground responses to the occasional misguided negative review. Absolutely hilarious!

All shows!

That Voices of Treason episode was WOW! Interesting insight into what people did to spread the propaganda word. You get the idea that at least some of these broadcast traitors weren’t believing what they were saying...and if they did...they were just delusional. Having been born way after WWII it was hard to relate to those broadcasts...they seemed slow compared to more contemporary advertising which blasts you with sound bites. The voice and tone of Hanoi Hanna was a real surprise...too bad we can’t ask what Adrien Kronauer must of thought of her...she seemed formidable. And hearing again the words of Baghdad Bob...hate to run into him if in another life he sold life insurance...he could still “sell” despite the blatant and obvious evidence that “Dude! The Americans are right there! Just turn around!” Well we’ve heard from the “other side”... Maybe we should listen to what “our” side generated...a story on America’s Psy-ops operations and techniques should prove to be even more fun! G Gelle DDS

It's not juSt that the stories are GREAT, it's the way they're told -- with unpretentious sincerity & love of storytelling. So refreshing, when many podcasts come across as smarmy & condescending! Thank you for doing what you do!

Mr. Hagadorn, your 1001 podcasts are the best podcasts that I have ever listened to!! I drive a truck for a living, therefore I have the ability to binge listen to your shows for hours and hours each day, for which I am very thankful for.
